When we got the go-ahead to introduce table foods to Greyson when he was about four months old, it was like a milestone in our house. My husband and I are both lovers of food – whether it be different cultural cuisines, simple take out, or diving in to a new at-home recipe from Pinterest. Even moreso, we wanted to share our love of food and raise Greyson to appreciate different flavors, textures, and preparations. My husband and I also practice the simple rule that everyone eats the same thing and together each night. This helps us establish our dinnertime routine and expectations in hopes to thwart off a picky eater. So, when meal planning for the week ahead, we consider not only what we would enjoy, but meals that Greyson would also like to eat.
And boy do we have an eater in our house! We are both so proud of Greyson’s willingness to try almost everything we serve him – with only a few food preferences along the way. However, one aspect to feeding him meals that vary in flavor or spice is that we anticipate some pretty interesting diapers in the hours to come.
Toddlers, Table Foods, and Desitin
Knowing that Greyson has inherited my own sensitivities when it comes to our skin, we always make sure to have our changing area stocked with everything we’ll need to make Grey as comfortable as possible – especially at bedtime. Desitin was not only a family trusted brand even for my husband and I’s parents, it’s quickly become a regular staple in our own arsenal to help keep diaper rash at bay or treat redness as it occurs. There’s a definite reason Desitin is trusted amongst each generation of parents!
We love each cream in Desitin’s line of products, but their Rapid Relief ointment has been our number one diaper rash cream ever since we brought Greyson home from the hospital. From food related irritation, common diaper rash, or even skin sensitivities to certain brands of diapers or wipes, Desitin has been there to provide Greyson the relief he needs. Not only that, but their fast acting formula treats his irritated booty faster than any other product we’ve tried. It’s also proven to keep him protected against irritating bacteria caused from urine, feces, moisture, and friction all night long.
And to those who are worried about the safety of their cream, all parents can trust that Desitin Rapid Relief is perfectly safe for their little ones because their ointment is hypoallergenic and tested and trusted amongst pediatricians.
So, as my husband and I continue to forge on with introducing him to new foods – and learning his sensitivities along the way – we can do so knowing Desitin keeps us covered and Greyson protected against future diaper rashes and irritation.
