That moment when you get home to see a nice package waiting for you at your door and knowing it’s your next fix is so exciting. I wasn’t too sure what to expect when I first signed up for Stitch Fix, but I was happily surprised with my first box. My stylist, Whitney, was really able to find new pieces that not only fit my style, but kept me on budget. After my first fix went so well, I was eager to see what she had for me in my next fix.
It’s November here in California, which means the weather is a mix of cooler temps in the morning and by the mid-afternoon things warm up. So, layering is the key to staying comfortable all throughout the work day. Also, being a teacher I am always looking for work-appropriate pieces to add to my wardrobe as well as the occasional cardigan and accessories. In this fix I received a long knit dress, a color block sweater, an open cardigan, and for the first time a necklace!
Loveapella Shift Dress – KEEP
The shift dress is definitely slim and stretchy so it works with my curves and accentuates my feminine features well. The horizontal stripes give me a more flattering overall appearance and this dress can be worn in a lot of different ways. A couple ways I styled it was with my sleeveless wool draping cardigan and a wool blazer I already owned with a statement color scarf. With the simplistic style of the dress it allows you to accessorize and really make it unique. Pair some black stockings for the colder months or wear it on its own; it makes for a great simplistic piece.
LA Made Colorblock Sweater Tunic – RETURN
Another piece I am loving from this month’s fix is the color block sweater tunic from LA Made. The blue and black work great with each other and pair nicely with a darker denim skinny jean like these Kensie skinny jeans from my first fix. For the second look, I simply popped my herringbone vest, yet another piece from my first fix, over the tunic! This color block shirt really opened my eyes to creating a look around two colors: blue and black.
Pixley Draped Cardigan – RETURN
Lots of blues in this fix and here’s another draped cardigan with a plaid detail on the inside. The cuffs are a bit larger than I’d like personally, but I just fold them up as you can see in the photo. The plaid adds that pop of color and it stands out in the overall outfit. But, there’s just something I wasn’t completely in love with even though the material was very soft and the rich blue hue was gorgeous. Perhaps if the inside detailing were a solid color I would have loved it more.
Pixley Teardrop Necklace – RETURN
This is my first accessory I received in my fix and it’s a maroon teardrop necklace from Pixley. The color and design of the teardrops are adorable, but I had difficulty spending over a certain amount on a necklace.
Overall this fix was cultivated really well by my stylist! I loved how each of the individual pieces not only went well with other items in my fix, but they were easily styled with previous fixes and items from my own closet. I walked away only having kept the knit shift dress, but I enjoyed trying on these other styles.
