A Simple DIY Gallery Wall
When we were making our plans to move into our new, and larger, apartment I was happily pinning away all kinds of design and decor inspirations. Knowing that this will be our home for the next few years, pending life getting in the way, I wanted to complete as many of these little projects as I could. From painting Greyson’s mountain mural to peeling and sticking backsplash in our kitchen.
One quirky aspect about our new apartment, however, is the amount of wall space we have considering the vaulted ceilings and staircase in the middle of the first floor, which separates the living room and dining room/kitchen. Our staircase is winding with a landing paired with a large wall that extends both floors. What to do with all of that empty wall space!
I knew I wanted to create a gallery wall to display our family photos and in doing so I could fill a lot of that space with the right frames. I opted for these silver Ikea square frames and did an arrangement of six frames total. I couldn’t be happier with the result and am so excited to share with you the final design for the landing of our stairs!
I love these Ikea frames because they’re simple and affordable – two things I look for in home decor. I also love them because they beautifully showcase the photos we had taken for our engagement, wedding, and family sessions at the beach!
Next up on my list, a gallery wall for Greyson’s bedroom!
