Friday Favorites | vol 7

Whoopsie on missing out last week for Friday Favorites. With it being Mother’s Day weekend I couldn’t help but be away from the blog (and have nothing planned to share)…#sorrynotsorry. But I’m back this week to share a few of the things I’m loving on from this past week!

One | Blush Cargo Jacket

I’ve just scheduled my June fix from *Stitch Fix and I couldn’t be more excited. One of the many inspirations I’ve pinned for my stylist to try and snag for me is cute outerwear that’s perfect for these chilly CA evenings and something to lend itself to for those rare rainy days in the seasons to come. I fell absolutely head over heels for this olive cargo vest from a previous fix, but am in need  of something that has sleeves. Plus it coming in this super cute blush tone has me *heart eyes* all over the place.

Two | Bathroom Decor Inspirations

We have about three – four weeks before we move (who’s counting anyways) and I’m always busy pinning inspirations for our new place. In this next apartment we’ve got the luxury of a half bathroom on the first floor and I just love the decor from Gypsie Designs. I love the idea of getting wall shelving for displaying framed photos and the pop of color from the flowers just pull it all together for me. Unfortunately we can only paint the cabinets, but I’m just loving everything about this renovation!

Three | Spicy Pork Coconut Curry Ramen

You may have seen my Instagram of my attempt at this recipe earlier in the week and OMG was it delicious. We have a local ramen place that we love to go to, but sometimes you just want to eat in the comfort of your own home. This is especially so when you and your husband come down with a cold. I know I typically try to keep to vegan meals during the week, but every so often the hubs and I like to cheat and boy was this dish worth it! We couldn’t find ramen noodles at our local grocer so we opted to use instant ramen, but only used the noodles from the package! It’s not the same as if you can find legit ramen noodles, but it definitely worked for us and was hard to tell a difference.

Four | The Hubs Did Good

Like I mentioned before, this past weekend was Mother’s Day and on Friday my husband decided he would not only surprise me with coming home early – but walking up with this amazingly huge and equally beautiful bouquet of my favorite flowers! We typically keep holidays low key in our home, but it was so nice to receive something and be surprised with this loving gesture. The whole weekend we did things that I wanted to do, which was another plus (not that I really have to drag my feet any other day) so we spent Saturday wine tasting up in Los Olivos. Sunday we ran a Mother’s Day 5k then had a reservation for brunch. All in all I had a pretty great 2nd Mother’s Day and hope you all did too!

What fun plans did you have in celebrating?

Five | Being Greyson’s Mama

With my husband and I on the tail end of a cold, this week feels as though it’s been dragging on. My patience has been on the lower end of the spectrum, but through it all I can’t help but sit back with my glass of rose at the end of a long day (for the record it’s 9pm when I wrote this) and look into the eyes of my sweet baby boy and just be happy. Greyson has been testing boundaries with us for a little over two weeks now, randomly not sleeping through the night (we’re having to sleep train a bit all over again), and just being a stinker. However, all he has to do to redeem himself is just give me on of his smiles or say ‘mama!’ and I completely fall to mush. As hard as this job is at times, I am so grateful to be chosen as Greyson’s mama.

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all enjoy your weekends. Next week we’re off to Pasadena, accompanying my husband on a work trip. If anyone has visited there before I’d love suggestions or recommendations on what to do and where to go! We’re there for four days and I’d love to make our time out there worth it.

What are your weekend plans?
