Joanna Gaines looks so gorgeous on the cover of this season’s Magnolia Journal!
Boy, what a month February was and now we’re running right into March! And speaking of March…I can’t wait for spring. We’ve been experiencing some cloudy and rainy weather here in Ventura lately – one moment it’s 75 degrees and sunny then it’s back to cloudy and cold. Spring is just a wonderful season that breathes new life into everything from my goals, celebrating birthdays, and cleaning to reevaluating and checking in with life in general. I love making plans for the future whether they be next week or next season…spring is just a blissful time and a reminder that every chapter closes to begin again anew and refreshed.
Today I am linking up and sharing what’s currently going on for March!
Planning | Greyson’s 2nd Birthday
I have been a crazy person by checking the weather possibly 300x in a day – not even exaggerating – trying to see whether or not this rain front is going to cancel our party for Saturday. When planning his birthday months ago I had to go with having his party ON his actual birthday because my husband is traveling for work all of next week. And even though California doesn’t get too much rain as it is, I never thought it would be an issue…until this winter storm front decided to come through…
Thankfully, it appears to be an afternoon shower here and there and is continuing to move. So, fingers crossed all of this planning pays off and we’re able to celebrate Greyson as planned!
Seeing | my in-laws this weekend!
I consider myself very fortunate to have a great relationship with my husband’s family. I absolutely adore them and having a closeness with them has been made so easy over the years – and especially since grandbabies came into the mix. This weekend we get to have my in-laws come in from Texas to visit and celebrate Greyson’s birthday and we have so much planned! From a little getaway for wine tasting, his party, and then just the typical lounging around, walking downtown, and having our full of family time.
Making | Greyson’s Captain America cake
If you caught my most recent post about Grey’s Avengers themed party inspiration, then you’d know that I’m attempting his birthday cake yet again this year. For his first birthday last year I did a tiered sandcastle cake for his luau and yet again I’m going to attempt to make a Captain America cake using Wilton fondant. I purchased all of my tools and ingredients and I have to say that I’m pretty excited to try this myself. I’ve never worked with fondant before and considering the design is fairly simple it shouldn’t be too difficult to pull off…right?
Be sure to follow me on Instagram stories to catch my attempt! 🙂
Pretending | I enjoyed The Bachelor this season…
Arie, I really kinda liked you this season as the chosen bachelor, but you had me right up until the finale; much like the rest of America. Personally I don’t know what it is about Lauren that captivated your heart over Becca, but it’s not my place to judge. Based on what I saw it appeared as if you had a more mature and honest relationship with Becca but perhaps you were looking for something different. Something easier? But enough of that…
ABC and Bachelor Producers I DO, in fact, have a bone to pick with you. It’s such a shame that those in a position of influence would go as low as you did simply for the ratings? Where is the line dawn in decency? Okay, if Arie wanted to break-up to pursue something with Lauren – fine – but to treat the situation like you did was disgusting, in my opinion, and was embarrassing and awkward for all involved. Including me.
However, there is some redemption in that Becca being chosen as the newest Bachelorette and perhaps this year she’ll find the love she is so deserving of. And Arie, hopefully you’ve found the love of your life in Lauren because Becca is a gem.
Anyone else have mixed emotions about this season’s Bachelor?!
Wearing | black…
When running around with a toddler black is typically my go-to outfit inspiration as it hides stains and any impending messes caused by said toddler. But, with going back to work I’ve been happily adding to my work wardrobe these last few months and recently I’ve really come to enjoy Rocksbox! It’s a jewelry subscription service where for $21 a month I receive three pieces and keep them as long as I want. When I’m done I simply send them back and wait to receive my next three pieces! I have never been a jewelry person, but have fancied a necklace a time or two. With Rocksbox I don’t have to worry about accumulating things I don’t need or would wear all the time and my outfits are always complimented with fresh new pieces each month!
Linking up with Anne and Erika.
